Pretty Extra was born from a lifetime of being told I was “too much.”

I grew up in farmland in the middle of New Jersey, where showing up to school in sweatpants or pajamas was the norm. I was the girl walking into Applebee’s in fluffy Juicy Couture boots, full makeup, and confidence that didn’t quite fit the room. People laughed. They stared. And I heard it constantly:
“Amanda… why are you so extra? We’re literally at Applebee’s.”

For a long time, I felt the pressure to shrink myself to blend in. But eventually, I realized something — the very thing people made fun of was the thing that made me me.

Pretty Extra is my decision to stop dimming my light and start owning it. It’s about embracing femininity, confidence, and self-expression without apology. It’s also about humor. I make fun of myself because I know how people stereotype me based on how I look and dress. By leaning into it, I take the power back — turning judgment into confidence and laughter into connection.
